I would stick with these bottle for now. If it is colic, there is nothing you can do about it. It does sound like it could be colic. Hang in there.

I'd stick with the bottles, in my experience they are the best for colicy babies. But your ped may switch you to a formula that's more suited for babies with colic. It's SOOO hard, I feel you pain, we delt with it for 6 weeks with Katie and it was so bad. She may also be gassy or have acid reflux, it's important to take her to the ped just so they can diagnose her. I'd be kind of upset if my ped didn't call me back though...can you call again?

don't be so quick to think it's colic. It's probably her adjusting to being out in the world. Their digestive systems are so immature at that point that they have a hard time passsing gas, etc. If it is colic, you'll see it more consistently thru the day and around three weeks it will really start to surface. Just hang in there for now. Unless she is gagging or choking during feedings, I'd stck w/ the bottles.

TOTALLY agree with Rachel. MANY babies that are assumed to have colic are mearly adjusting, overtired (wouldn't you cry incessantly if you haven't slept for more than a few minutes?) and their systems are not ready yet.
Dr Brown's are the best bottles for colic....they did wonders for DD gas (she was not colic).
Is she formula or BF? It could be the formula....we started with plain old Enfamil Lipil and it was too much. We switched to soy (without asking Dr first--we assumed it was because it was milk based and both DH and I have digestive issues). She got better around 6 weeks, and continued from there. Maybe I should have tried one of the other formulas first like Gentelease...but whatever. Our routine works. She needs some time.
Is there ANYONE you could ask for help so you could take a snooze and re-charge yourself?

I don't know if anything would help gas better than Dr. Browns. Are you sure she doesn't have some kind of reflux? It could be coming up in her throat but not out and it could be causing her pain.

Re: should i change bottles?
thanks for all your replies..my dr never called back..and last night i went to a wedding and my mil watched alexandra overnight..and OF COURSE..she was perfect for them..so maybe it was just a little phase..im calling the dr tomorrow just in case because i hear even if they are colic they do have a calm day..but ill wait it out a bit..its so hard when you have no sleep and a new mom..you just try so hard to find out what could possibly be wrong with your baby ..playing detective and new mom and no sleep is pretty rough
