Should I be worried RE gnawing on crib?

DD is the perfect height now when she stands in her crib her mouth hits the rail. Well today she was gnawing away. She had brown around her mouth, I guess because the crib is cherry so it is stained? EEEEKKK...I don't think she actually swallowed any but I'm nervous. My sis(is a nurse) said if I call the doc, they can't do anything anyway. They're not going to run toxicology on her.

the side (where a drop side would be) is stationary and it is thick. Not sure if one of those guards is going to fit

Re: Should I be worried RE gnawing on crib?

DD does the same thing and has been for awhile. I bought the crib rails from BRU and that worked for about a month and then as she got older she started pulling them right off. They never really fit that well to begin with. I went on the website for the manufacturer of my crib and it said they use Non Toxic paint. I would imagine most if not all companies use non toxic paint. My concern now is that DD gets a splinter. When I go in her rom in the morning to get her I always see the white paint on her face and I'll ask her what did you eat and she will say PAINT. She's 17 months old so I am hoping that by telling her not to eat it she will eventually understand and stop. She has made such a mess out of her crib.
