Should I be nervous?

I will be 26 weeks tomorrow. I never feel the baby during the day only when I'm laying down at night. I really have not felt the baby move at all today. I'm having my usual symptoms today-bad heartburn, sore boobs constantly peeing but I'm not sure why I don't feel the baby???Chat Icon Should I be concerned??? TIA!!!

Re: Should I be nervous?

I don't always feel the baby either and I'm nearly 27 weeks.

Don't worry so much about it as long as you still feel the poke/kicks/flutters when you're lying down tonight or wake up tomorrow.

Re: Should I be nervous?

I felt the baby very late (compared to others) and only at night also to start. No worries! I told my doc how concerned I was and told me if I haven't felt him for like 6 hours to drink a large glass of ice cold orange juice and lay on my left side and if I don't feel him within 45-60 minutes to give a call. It's never been an issue when I've tried this OJ trick. My placenta is also laying in the front of my belly which the doc says absorbs a lot of the movement...perhaps could be the same for you. I'm 31 weeks now, and it's only been in the last couple of weeks (like 29) that I feel him constantly and my belly is moving all over the place on the outside. Chat Icon

Re: Should I be nervous?

I posted the same exact thing last week when I was 25 weeks and change...its normal, supposedly it could be a growth spurt where they sleep for a while...I feel my little girl a lot more at night right when I'm about to go to sleep, and not soo much during the day...they also say that during the day you're more active and you may rock the baby to sleep as opposed to at night when you're more sedentary...

Thanks girls!!! I drank some OJ last night and I had some rolling. I guess my baby is just not as active as others. I have read so many posts of girls who say they feel their baby all day. I don't!

You'll probably start feeling the baby more as the baby gets bigger. You may not feel all of the movements that the baby makes. I know at my last appointment, the baby kicked the doppler several times and I only felt some of those kicks. As long as you feel the baby at night, I wouldn't worry. The baby probably sleeps during the day b/c you're moving around. The movement rocks the baby to sleep. Chat Icon

Re: Should I be nervous?

I am 29 weeks and feel like I dont feel my baby as much as I should. My doc said from 24-28 weeks you should feel at least 1 movement per day, and from 28 weeks on, you should feel the baby "all the time". I was feeling her a lot starting the day before I turned 28 weeks, and then it slowed again this week. I actually went to the doc bc I was so nervous, and she is still moving around in there just fine. My placenta is right on top of the baby in the front, so it's cushioning the movement a lot. I would see her kicking on the screen and not feel it :( I would just watch for a decrease in movement, and if you notice a change, give your doc a call for peace of mind.
