Should I be eating more?
I am 17w2d and have only gained 2lbs. I wasn't overly overweight to begin with (probably about 15 lbs. from my suggested weight) but I actually lost a pound from about three weeks ago to today. I am getting concerned that the baby isn't getting enough nutrients.
Here is a "typical" day:
7:00am: cereal 10:00am: fruit 1:00pm: lunch (this could either be leftovers, a lean cuisine, a salad, tuna sandwich) 3:30pm: a snack (sometimes fruit again, sometimes a cut up cucumber, sometimes cookies or chips) 7:00pm-9:00pm (depending on when DH gets home): Dinner, which varies from a bowl of cereal to meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn.

Hmm...maybe you're not getting enough protein. Could you maybe add protein smoothies (I blend protein powder w/Greek yogurt and fresh fruit) Or eat more lean meat?
And almonds/walnuts for snacks.

Re: Should I be eating more?
If that's what you normally eat anyway, then you should be fine. Unless your doctor tells you, I wouldn't be concerned. We're only supposed to eat an additional 300 calories per day anyway. If you're not hungry don't eat.
You also just mentioned the types of foods you eat, not the sizes. You could also increase your portions a bit.

Re: Should I be eating more?
I eat about the same as u. I don't have cravings and don't pig out. Just haven't had the urge. I'm 26w and only have gained about 3 pounds. My doc says its fine as long as the baby is growing and gaining weight, which she is. I started off heavy so I shouldn't be gaining much anyway. There is a website someone posted the other day where u can enter your pre pregnancy weight and how many weeks u are. It then calculates how much u should be gaining and what u should weigh at certain weeks. I tried it and it was pretty much right on target for me

Re: Should I be eating more?
only Gaining 2lbs isn't a bad thing. I've only gained 12 so far and I'm 33 weeks. Dr. said to eat the way you normally do so that is what I've been dong. Other posters are right you may want to add some more protein and veggies but I think you're eating well.

I was underweight by 5 pounds, and I have not gained anything at 17 weeks. Don't worry, the weight will come on soon! Sounds like you are eating fine.

Re: Should I be eating more?
I'd just say more protein..
and at dinner if its a bowl of cereal, add in a/have on the side a piece of fruit. good to keep the 5 servings of fruits/veggies in a day.
