Should I be concerned...DS keeps coughing

Don't know what it is but since yesterday DS has been coughing non stop. He has no conjestion or fever and I don't hear any mucous in his nose or anything. No runny nose either. If he sneezes nothing comes out of his nose. It's like a dry cough. He's had 2 rough nights of tossing and turning and coughing. Same thing happens during the naps. So it's been making him uncomfortable. Other than that he acts normal during the day when he is awake and is eating and drinking. etc.

I did make an appointment to see the doctor this afternoon just to have him checked out. Nowadays you have to take every precaution.

Could it possibly be allergies...It's like a non stop coughing where he's coughing every 30 seconds. Then he'll be fine for a few hours and then the coughing spell begins again every couple of seconds.

DS has the same thing, we think it's allergies. He'll be at the ped at the first sign of a fever but until then as we both suffer from seasonal allergies (DH far worse than I), we're chalking it up to that since it's his only 'symptom'.

Hope you get some reassurance at the ped Chat Icon

It is probably allergies or post nasal drip

It sounds like allergies. I get the same thing and have for years. Maybe your ped cann recommend an allergy med that would help your little one feel better! GL
