Should I be concerned?
DD is almost 4 weeks old...and no poops for 2 days? She's eating ok, but also getting a little spit-up after she finished her bottle?
Thanks.

Re: Should I be concerned?
my dr told me after 24 hrs of no poop to stick a thermometer up there to get it going.
He then said after another 24 hrs to do it again..if still nothing a gylcerine deposit.
I had to do the deposit once..not fun...but boy did she poop!!!

i agree. formula fed babies should have bm's everyday, while BF can go days w/o. try the therm. trick, and then maybe a suppository. but of course, consult your ped first. here's some poopie dust for Mollie

Where exactly do you buy that?
I agree. Try the thermometer. More than likely the minute before you try it, she'll go.

Re: Should I be concerned?
I would give it another day. My doctor said that 3-4 days is normal for formula feed babies - especially since she is still small and not eating as much.
try the thermometer trick if she goes any longer than that. Hope it works.

Re: Should I be concerned?
hmmm...everything I've read online says not to do the thermometer thing
Do you think if I water down her formula, that will help?
If nothing by tomorrow...I will call the ped and see what they suggest.

Re: Should I be concerned?
My ped. said watering down formula is a big no-no. We did the thermometer and it worked like a charm.

JUst the tip- as if you were taking her temp.
You could also try and give her 1oz of warm water- sometimes it helps loosen them up....

Re: Should I be concerned?
The thermometer always works for us. You could try sitting her in a warm bath. That gets things going for some babies.

You could also rub gently to the left of her belly button.

Re: Should I be concerned?
Thanks everyone! I did the rubbing belly thing, and also moving her legs in a circle motion (like a bike) and DH did the 2am feeding/diaper change and told me that she had a full poop diaper!
