shots?

I was under the impression that the DaTP shot (Tetnus) shot covered Whooping Cough (that's what the P stands for).

I know that my Tetnus Shot is current and so is DH's and i told my parents and the in laws that they should make sure they were current too since they will be around the baby a lot and should be current with the Whooping Cough.

My dad went to the doctors today and his doctor was aware that adults should be revaccinated for Whooping Cough if they are going to be around infants but said it was a seperate shot.

I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow - but does anyone know if I really would need another shot even if my DaTP is current...?

I just did a lot of googling and I think my dad's doctor just gave him a second tetnus shot because from what i have read there is no shot for just the whooping cough its packaged with the tetnus. So I think I answered my own question with lots of googling. I also realized that i incorrectly listed the letters in the shot its DTaP
