short cervix & bed rest any btdt?

on my new tablet so excuse my messy writing....

spent my anniversary in l&d contracting 6mins apart, was not dilated thankfully & went home on modified bed rest...went 2 days later for growth soon baby measuring a bit ahead @ 29weeks she is est to be 3lbs5oz...but cervix was short 2cm...also still contracting...I get a lot & have been since the 2nd tri....some are painful so keeping an eye on them & on strict bed rest until 37 weeks....I'm 30w1d now....

ne1 else been thru this? I'm so scared 2 go early...scared of a preemie

I've been on strict bed rest for 4 weeks. I will be 26 weeks tomorrow.

At 21w6d, my cervix was extremely short and I was having many contractions. I was admitted to the hospital and had to have a cerclage done. I stayed in the hospital for a week so they could help get my contractions under control and was sent home on strict bed rest with Nifedipene every 4 hours to help with the contractions.

I'll probably be on bed rest until the end!

Hang in there! You're already 29 weeks which is great. If you can get to 37 weeks, you'll be golden!

I was put on strict bedrest at 27 weeks for a shortened cervix. Around 2 like u I think. Mine was due to contractions brought on by a nasty intestinal infection. I was taken off of bedrest at 38 weeks and delivered the next day. So it definitely works. DD was full term and 7 lbs 2 oz. She is now 4!

I was going for pre term labor screening from 24 weeks on, because I had twins. I was put on bed rest at 27 weeks for a short cervix. I think it was 4. Bed rest sucks!!!!
a few weeks later I went for more testing and my cervix went down to 2 and I had a positive FFN. I was hospitalized and given steroids. a few days later my water broke on twin A. I went to my local hospital and was taken by ambulance to North shore. My twins were born at 30w 4d. Twin A spent 31 days in the nicu and twin B spent 36 days in the nicu. It was really hard but the babies were well taken care of. They are now 3 months old and thriving

Yes I had a shortening cervix which was discovered after I was in l&d for a stomach virus at 30 weeks. My cervix had lost over 3 inches in less than 6 weeks. I was on bed rest until 37 weeks and delivered at 38 weeks exactly. I had a sono every other week but my cervix stop shortening after I went on bedrest but I didn't even last a week once I was off. It's really scary but luckily you found out early and the drs will monitoring you closely. Many prayers for you and baby.

thank you all....I did forget to mention that the swab they did to see if i'd go into labor within 2 weeks came back negative, that was last week...I am also on Crinone progesterone, I don't know if its working but I am having less contractions, Dr said studies have shown it can help contractions and cervical shortening...I just hope I will make it the next 7 weeks to 37....so far 1 week of bed rest down...Ty for prayers
