thats my tip for saving money on groceies, too... go in knowing what you need. it takes more time, but every week DH and i sit down and come up with a "menu" for the week, and i write down what we need to buy for that, and don't get anything thats not on the list. it helps cut down on the "impulse" purchases.

I think this is such an important thing. I know that if you just send me to Toys R Us or a department store and let me loose to decide what to get as presents, I'd go nuts. If, however, I sit down and plan it all out ahead of time and look for the sales first, I spend less, spend less time shopping, and still manage to get nice gifts for the people I need to buy for.

I went to Toys R Us the other day (it's right near my office in Times Square)... I swear, *I* was like a little kid. I wanted to buy everything. Chat Icon

This also cuts down on the amount of Christmas gifts I pick up for myself. Chat Icon
