She only wants to stand!
DD is 6 months old and all she wants to do is try to stand! Which she can't do on her own so I have to hold her in that position while I sit on the floor with her! She can sit on her own and is able to roll in every direction but she gets mad and as soon as you go near her she tries to climb to standing! Even if you try to put her in a sit, she straightens her legs b/c she wants to stand. I am exhausted from holding her in this position! We had to lower her mattress last night b/c she is pulling herself up to standing! Any suggestions?

Re: She only wants to stand!
I have no advice - Ava did the same thing. She crawled for like a week and went straight to standing and cruising the furniture.....walked by 9 months.
I think I just totally scared you
How is she feeling????

My mom keeps reminding me that I walked at 9 months! no crawling! She is a little better. Thanks for asking! Her nose isn't running like a faucet today.

Oh no - did she wish a child just like you on you like mine did
She'll do it on her own soon enough - she seems to want it bad enough and she's pretty strong so its coming.
Sorry her nose is leaky but glad she's a little better :) Hope everything went well Sunday

Re: She only wants to stand!
DS did the same thing. I know how exhausting that is! We had to walk around with him all the time. He didn't crawl until he learned how to walk on his own. So if he wasn't in some contraption, I was walking with him! Eventually though, he learned to walk on his own.

Re: She only wants to stand!
DS has been doing this since 5.5 months. He pulls himself up in the crib & the furniture & everything he can reach. He sometimes whines until we hold his hands & help him walk around the house. It is exhausting. He never sits still. He crawls everywhere & stands on everything.

Re: She only wants to stand!
DS did this to for all while (he really was a challenge to get in the carseat because he would stiff up his back). Now at 9 mos, the kid is all about standing.
I agree, try the exersaucer
