I Survived YOU
You who would reshape our world, provide new vocabulary and scroll bars to newscasts and make a skyline be reborn. You came to teach a lesson and one was taught. 15yrs and still lessons are learned. Not all who were affected are gone. I’m still here. I survived you. I had practice at the hands of evil that you cannot understand. You came into my world and shocked us all but I was already battle-worn and scarred. So I survived you and in 15yrs with a scar that grows in my lung and a mark on my knee, I can still say I’m here. You’ll have to do much better than that. I play the long game. And when I’m gone, I will survive you still in the form of my daughter. You will always lose.
I am not a victim. I am a survivor.
