Shades / Blinds
We are decorating a family room that has a small window (a little larger than a bedroom window) I need to get blinds but am at a loss! i usually get the vertical blinds but i know there was a post here that they are outdated ...so i guess my question is what blinds are popular now or would look good on a small window? i'm clueless, thanks!

I love the look of the cellular shades, BUT I also need the natural light so I prefer the wood blinds, or faux wood. I REALLY love the plantation shutters but they are $$$

I have the cellular shades on 3 of my windows in my home and love them, they look beautiful when they're down and look so much neater than regular blinds when they're up. I wouldn't put them in a bedroom or somewhere where you're looking for darkness because they still allow a nice amount of light in, I'd say they're best for where you just would like some privacy. With that said they'll probably be perfect for your family room. I got mine from Lowe's, the machine they use to cut them is pretty cool too lol.

I just ordered faux wood blinds for our den. They haven't been installed yet but, I'll post pics when I can!

I don't recall seeing them in Home Depot but I could be wrong...Lowe's sells Levolor brand in store and they get cut in only a few min.
