Sewing machine recommends?

Can anyone recommend their specific machine? I did a search already but didnt see any specific models.

Any info would be much appreciated.

I am a Bernina user, they have a wide range of machines, what you want depends on what you do. I am a quilter primarily, I still use a 25 year old 801, it is awesome! My Mom uses an Artista 730. I belong to a 200+ member guild, the most common machines are Bernina and Viking, next being Pfaff.

I LOVE my Bernina, BUT it I also grew up on them and learned how to sew on them so I am probably biased. I used a Singer in college and hated it.

What type of sewing do you do? Do you do it often? If you want something that you can really use and have for awhile I wouldn't buy a box machine off of a shelf, I'd go to a sewing store where you can try the various models and see what you like. You may have to go to a few places because often a shop with deal with one manufacturer. So you'd go to one place to check out Bernina another to check out viking etc.

I just started to sew if you can even call it that. I dont want to spend too much as itll just be used for small projects.

I have a fancy sewing machine but I also have a Singer Simple. It came from Walmart. It was cheap, is easy to use & made all my curtains, duvet cover & throw pillows.
