SEVERE outer thigh pains at 35 weeks
Like, I mean SEVERE. When I lay on one side for awhile, I feel it on the side of that leg. Intense, agony pain... Then I flip and after awhile I feel it on that side, too. Not just, "eh... Kind of hurts", but more I could cry from the pain (and have).
DH called me a hypochondriac for daring to mention that maybe it could be blood clots. He can't imagine I would have the same exact "clot" in the same exact spot in both legs. And kind of got mad at me for jumping to something so serious that would require us to go to the hospital. I've had this pain every time I lay down for too long for a few weeks now, especially since I lay down a lot on bed rest! He said it's probably either muscular or from all the changes in my hip/pelvis pushing down on my leg bones.
What do you think?

Re: SEVERE outer thigh pains at 35 weeks
I get that just from laying down on my side too long. i have only two options-lay on my right side or left side. After a while it hurts my hips and joints especially if i dont position my pillows correctly. If i stand to go to the bathroom i can barely walk. The only thing that helps me is if i lay propped on my back for a little while to relieve pressure on the legs until i get too short of breath...
Yep, bedrest really suucks

I have the SAME thing.. that's why all night long I'm flipping back and forth.. my dr said it's muscular from the weight of your belly straining your back and hips.. if you think it's more you can always ask your dr

Re: SEVERE outer thigh pains at 35 weeks
I think it's totally normal to worry about the pain being from a blood clot - but it is more than likely just more painful pregnancy pain. As with anything that seems abnormal mention it to your doc so they can explain the difference between normal pain and something to get worried about. Men have no clue all the strange pains, discomforts, worries, etc we go through. I have had times that I've wondered about blood clots or the baby being less active or if I leaked fluid or peed a little! Hang in there!!

I have that too. I feel it if I wake up in the middle of the night. The pain on the top of my outer thigh is terrible but it will feel better when I switch sides. Feel better!

Re: SEVERE outer thigh pains at 35 weeks
Thank you, all.
I'm more mad at myself that I didn't ask about it at my last appt on Thursday. I forgot. Now I don't have my next appt until this Thursday. I will definitely ask then.
And - to be honest - the only reason I thought "blood clot" was because I recently watched an episode of Royal Pains where a woman had that. lol. My DH just got mad because while me saying that to him is just sharing a concern of mine, it now puts him in a bad spot to either "talk me out of it" or bring me to the hospital since a blood clot is so dangerous. And he was mad that I said "It feels like a blood clot" when I don't know what that feels like. I can understand his point. He's been asking how my legs are all day and he apologized about getting mad about the hypochondriac thing, so I know he feels bad about the pain I have.
Thank you! I do feel better knowing that it's "normal", but I hate that we all go through this pain! It can be really terrible!!

I would call your dr.'s emergency line. Why take chances?
