I always thought the center was the safest, but you should read the manual for your car, they are all different.

I don't know but I have 2 kids, one behind the driver and one behind the passenger. I like using LATCH so I wouldn't have done the center seat plus it would be SO annoying getting a kid in and out of the center seat.

Check your owner's manual. All cars are different. I have a Ford Escape and I had the seat installed by a certified tech. They specifically told me that my car is not made for a center seat install. And the owner's manual says the same thing.

Depends on the name and model of your car.
I have a 2015 Acadia Denali. The middle seat is actually the least safe. There are center airbags that deploy from the driver and front passenger seats in the middle.
