Seriously...
For mom that have bumpers in the crib - do you have to take the bumpers off everytime you change the sheet???
I feel like I am doing something wrong, cause I have to do this all the time.

Re: Seriously...
Yea ... actually every time I change the sheet I have to take the bumpers out .... take the mattress out, readjust the skirt since it gets all messed up when you move the mattress, etc.
It's a big ordeal. Which is why I don't change it so often. I'm a bad momma -- ours gets changed about every 2-3 weeks but Emilys gets changed more like every 2 months.

Re: Seriously...
I just push the bumpers up, I have the hardest time putting the sheet back on. The ones that match the set, I ripped a corner on each one that I have!!!

Re: Seriously...
OMG I know!!! Then I heard about the Ultimate Crib Sheet. I'll try and describe it... It's a sheet that you put over the regular pretty sheet that you can still see on the sides of the mattress. It has snaps on it and it just snaps to the sides of the crib. It's also waterproof. So when you need to change it you just snap it off. They have it a BRU. ultimate crib sheet

I have that too but it's the kind that ties instead of snaps. It worked great until Bella discovered rolling over and scootching around in her sleep. I took it out b/c I was afraid of her getting under it

OMG, I *have* to change my son's sheet at least 2x/week. I change it if his diaper leaks and/or there's ANY spit up! It was a total PITA until took his bumpers out @ 6 months.
Does Emily not spit up or leak?

Re: Seriously...
I squeeze the sheet around the bumpers....we have a spindle type crib, so I squeeze my hands through and pull the sheet down.

Re: Seriously...
LMAO! I was just thinking the other day how I use to do it with babies #1 and even #2 - taking it off, retying everything with bows after. Now I just yank the mattress out and hope for the best. I shove it back in and yank the bumpers up and retie (with knots instead of bows LOL) whatever comes loose. I hate crib bumpers! You'd think in this day & age there's be an easier way to do it.

Re: Seriously...
I just changed her crib sheet for the first time tonight. I only untied the bumpers on the side of the crib that goes down (which is the side I was standing on). Once I had that side off I was able to wedge the mattress out from under the other side of the bumpers. We'll see what happens when I try to put the mattress back in. The sheet is in the laundry now, so I haven't completed the "project" just yet. But so far it seems like it IS going to be a royal PITA every time. DD goes in the regular crib for the first time tomorrow night. We'll just have to wait and see how often I have to change the sheet.
