Sent my MIL gorgeous purple orchids set in branches...
And do you know what she got? A cheesy green teapot with half-dead carnations. She's a doll and told me she loved it anyway, but OMG...the order was $50. What came was total crap!!! I called the florist beyond annoyed today. They are crediting my whole order. UGH! Dh is like, "This is what you sent my mother?!" (TEASING ME, of course.) I told him next time, he can order his mom's flowers!

Re: Sent my MIL gorgeous purple orchids set in branches...
A florist tried to do that to me once too. My grandparents lived in FL and I sent an arrangement and specifically said, "NO CARNATIONS, NO FILLER FLOWERS". Little did they know that my grandfather was E-mail savvy and e-mailed me a picture of Grandma smiling next to the bouqet. I was livid (even though she seemed plenty happy).
I called the credit card company and disputed the charge. I did not have to pay for the arrangement.
People sux sometimes!

Re: Sent my MIL gorgeous purple orchids set in branches...
This happened to my mother 2 years ago! I sent her a $90 flower arrangement and she calls me and says "ummm..thank you for the flowers, but I have to say, I'm rather disappointed" They left on the front door a small fishbowl type vase with two carnations and a branch of baby's breath. I couldn't believe it!!!
Glad the florist is fixing the error for you!

They gave me a sob story about how busy there were. You know what? I'm busy at my job, but I do it and I do it right. Lame.

I cannot stand that excuse...they do it on Valentine's Day too. Um, yes, they were busy, but those 2 days are also the 2 days they make the most money the whole year. Either staff your company appropriately to handle the increased orders, or stop accepting orders. It's like they take all the orders (and $) they can get, and *try* to get all their orders full.
ETA: Of course, there are wonderful florists who don't do this, but I've dealt with many with these same lame excuses. And, I forgot to add, you pay EXTRA for delivery on Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, and you get crap! That's frustrating!!

Re: Sent my MIL gorgeous purple orchids set in branches...
had something similar happen to me. Sent a baby boy "blue" floral arrangment with basket full of "blue" stuff and they received a "pink" one instead I was never more mortified in my entire life .
They resent the correct arrangement the next day and I was credited for the original and didn't have to pay for the second one, but still
