sensor for under crib mattress?
I have heard of lots of people getting the sensor that goes under the crib mattress. It detects if there is no movement after a certain number of seconds, then an alarm will sound. I have heard mixed opinions about these. I do have one on my registry for now, but I recently heard that it can go off for no reason and make you more paranoid. What do you ladies think?

My girlfriend has one and raves about it. Love it. But she says yes there are false alarms but she doesn't care. For me, it would make me crazy. Plus she cosleeps.

When my MIL was helping take care of our baby cousin twins their cribs had this and in the middle of the night when they'd cry she would run in to take one twin out so the other wouldn't wake up from the crying but then she'd forget the crib alarm and it was LOUD!! And scared everyone in the house and of course woke his twin brother!
Another cousin has it, and is glad they have it. Some false alarms though depending on how baby moves on crib and that baby is only a few months, doenst move much but somehow she inches around.
I got back and forth on wanting one.

This may be a really dumb question but what about when the baby is sleeping? Wouldn't the baby not move then (other than breating). Or is the sensor so sensitive it picks up breathing movement?

The monitor we registered for Has a sensor pad -- I had never even heard of it before then!

I have one and would not have slept soundly without it. Plan on using it for this one as well.
Yes, we had a few false alarms once he was rolling around, but Id rather a few false alarms, if ONE of them were to be real. Better to be alarmed than not know at all......at least it was for us.

My SIL has it and will let me borrow it when DD is born...I cant wait, I think it will really give me some peace of mind!

my friend has one- she loves it, personally i think it would be too much and make me more neurotic, I am just doing an old fashioned monitor no video for me either...
