Semen Analysis - where to go?
Hi ladies. I am new to this board. I came across it in my frantic quest to find a place to get a semen analysis for my husband. We have been ttc for a year and a half and I have gotten my bloodwork and HSG done and all was fine. Now we just need to get him tested. We have the prescription and the cup for it. We just need to find a lab in Nassau that he can take the sample to. We live in the south shore of Nassau. Does anybody know of any places in Nassau preferably in the south shore or at least in the middle of Nassau that he can go for this? I have called a bunch of places but they have all said call the main office which is in NYC or Brooklyn or places like that. I also called my insurance company which was beyond unhelpful. It's very frustrating.

the doctor who wrote the rx for you should be able to tell u where to go. My dh did his at north shore lij labs at lij hospital manhasset, but he had an rx for it so we asked the doctor and that was one of several options. Good luck!!

Your dr who wrote the script should know which lab is covered under your insurance. If the dr. office is no help, try contacting your insurance company. They'll point you in the right direction.

My DH dropped his off at Quest in Syosset. In and out, but you need an appointment.

My DH just got a prescription from my Dr. for a SA, and she told me that he had to go to whatever lab is covered by his insurance. My lab is Quest, but he seems to have different options. Not sure where he's going yet.

I agree, call you insurance co., they will point you in the right direction. Not all labs to semen analysis so they will be able to give you all that info.

This is where my DH went - it was the closest place we could find (we're in south nassau as well)

Go to any lab that takes your insurance with the referral.
My DH did his at South Nassau Communities Hospital, and received the results the next day.
