How accurate are these salaries as for S&G's I went on and now I am SUPER depressed how poor we are and how much more people my own age is making?

I just looked up DH. It's accurate. Spot on.
ETA: It's pretty eye opening to see that the large majority of the highest paid people in the state work for police and fire and yet we have increasing crime everywhere. It must be nice to be paid huge salaries with no accountability.

ETA you aren't even looking at the right thing btw. Many of the people employeed by the state make millions. Click on the ones that are in the medical profession. Most of the highest paid police and fire make $300k and that's a small minority of the force.

One of my friends in the police dept is showing close to 300k and his wife as a teacher 140k.
Another one that just retired (young), working for the town, 120k.
Fire Dept over 100k.
LIRR 170K
I DO think that many people deserve good money in many occupations. That is not even my point but I feel like we missed the boat back when we were 18 not to realize we should have gotten into these occupations. They didn't push ones that get pensions and now forget about companies offering them.

They are pretty accurate. The ones that get me are school administrators. So many make so much $$$!!! Not principals but superintendents and such.

I DO think that many people deserve good money in many occupations. That is not even my point but I feel like we missed the boat back when we were 18 not to realize we should have gotten into these occupations. They didn't push ones that get pensions and now forget about companies offering them.
My husband said his dad kept pushing him to be a cop and he had zero interest in it. But after he finished his associates degree he felt he had no direction and had no idea what career he wanted to pursue so he decided to just take the test to shut his dad up. He's very glad his dad was so persistent. He didn't LOVE his job by a long shot but the benefits made it worth it.
I remember DH telling me when we first go married that I should take some civil service tests for county jobs. I did take a few and even did some interviews but the problem was their starting salaries were low. Way less than I was making in private industry. So even though they had the potential of more money down the line and of course the pension and benefits, it was hard to take a big pay cut when we had a mortgage to pay, bills etc.
But I always say if you can get into when you are young and starting out it's the way to go.

I'm not speaking about your average police officer. I'm speaking of these people in roles of authority making the rules. Or abolishing the rules as the case seems to be.

LIRR many make an additional $150,000 in over time a lone. This is why they constantly raise the fee's to use the train.

Right, I am not sure what police officers are abolishing rules.... that seems to all come from the outside.

I have only ever really looked at the city workers and educators tabs but healthcare! We have a friend who works for a hospital system and he is making a TON of money - in an administrative role, not patient facing.

I had an old boss who they would publish their salaries in Newsday as it was a public company. One of the employees said something and he was like, how would you feel if your salary was published. She said well people would just laugh at me. He didn't know what to say. He was making soooo much more money than the rest of us and tried to go on our level and just looked stupid doing it.

I have never looked at hospitals either as I know one person who I would love to know how much he makes. He is up there very high.

Edited to say I found that person, makes almost a million dollars a year 
Would love to know others who complain constantly about money though.
