Securing a mortgage?
I started working with a broker on securing a mortgage. Can I also call banks on my own to see what they offer? I know this might be a stupid question but I am so clueless when it comes to this. Thanks.

Sure you can. That's how we got our mortgage.
If you are still in the beginning can I make a suggestion: talk to the Long Island Housing Partnership. They are a non-profit with offices in Happauge and they have access to/information about mortgage programs that you may not get anywhere else.
