Sectionals

I am in the process of re-doing my family room and I want a really cozy sectional. My DH both want certain features (recline, etc.) and we have a certain space to fill.

Did anyone ever get a custom made sectional before? If so, from where and was it really $$?

We got our sectional from Brand Name Furniture on Sunrise Hwy. in Oakdale. It wasn't custom made though. I knew I wanted a recliner, sofa bed and a chaise and we walked in and they had it.

We are actually moving and selling it if your interested.

I think a lot of sectionals are modular, in that you can pick out various pieces you want and then they link together to form the sectional. So you can have a reclining chair, left arm chair, right arm chair, chaise, etc. Obviously, the more you add, the more expensive it gets. But you can customize it to your needs and space.

We bought a modular piece because we needed a more modest-sized sectional for our den (couldn't have something huge).

I forget where we got it (one of the many furniture stores on Rt 110!), but I remember we also saw similar pieces at Jennifer Convertables (in Carle Place), Macy's, etc. I think there were some good deals, especially around holiday weekends and such.

We just got a sectional from Raymour & Flannigan...they had a ton of options!

I don't have one but also try La-Z-Boy - I think they customize sectionals for you...

we purchased from pottery barn-the custom build your own sectional. We chose PB Grand in white denimm white pincut cushions. I LOVE the endless possibilities with the sectional pieces. Thy look so great on their own too. Once you order you cannot cancel the order-just like most custom orders. No regrets. I will buy another once I donate our LR couch to my bro. Can't wait!
