Seamstress rec. in the Commack/Smithtown area
I have to get a dress altered by the end of the month and I was looking for a seamstress recommendation around the Commack area (I'm willing to travel a little if need be).
And a dumb question...will a seamstress press the gown as well?

She altered my bridal gown and a BM gown that I had to wear for a friend's wedding for me, and she did a great job! I agree that she is affordable and efficient. I am going to be a BM again this spring and plan on bringing my dress to her.

BUMP..any other suggestions? I tried calling Phyllis but she doesn't accept gowns from David's Bridal. Thanks anyway for that suggestion!

Rosealba in Kings Park!
I always recommend her - she has her own little storefront right on Main Street. She does a great job. She is a little more $ than the woman I used to go to because that woman did it out of her house and had no overhead. Although, for a storefront - she is reasonable in price and does a fantastic job. She has done a lot of stuff for me.

Also, she always steams/presses the gown for me so when I pick it up - it is alllll ready to go!

This must be new since my gown was from David's and she hemmed it for me.

I didn't like their customer service OR experience in the store, but I was happy with my alterations...and I think they were very affordable too.
In fact, the alterations were the ONLY part i was happy with!
I've had good luck with a dry cleaner across from Mayfair Shopping Ctr in Commack - Beau Brummel. I've had about 10 prs of pants and a dress hemmed there.
