Seafood?
Can anyone tell me which seafood to avoid?
I know swordfish and tuna because of mercury - any others?

Re: Seafood?
The FDA advises that pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and young children should avoid eating shark, swordfish, king mackerel and tilefish due to high levels of mercury in these fish..
and sushi of course..
better yet here is the website with the chart..
no- no fish list.

Re: Seafood?
This is from the March of Dimes website which I find really helpful for figuring out what to eat or not eat.
"Use common sense when preparing and selecting foods. Avoid the following: Swordfish, shark, king mackerel and tile fish. These fish can contain potentially risky levels of mercury. Mercury can be transferred to the growing fetus and cause serious health problems. Also avoid game fish until you check its safety with your local health department. (A game fish is any fish caught for sport, such as trout, salmon or bass.) "
