Scrape on DDs face- will it scar?
Dd took a tumble yesterday :( she fell down our steps and scraped her cheek. It was never "actively" bleeding but it is definitely a scrape. I have been cleaning it and putting on cream but I am so afraid it's going to scar. It def did not warrant stitches.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

I would think she should be fine. DC had a cut on DC cheek that required stitches and its a barely noticeable scar now so I think a scratch should be fine.

It might scar for a short while but, it will fade. DS has gotton a lot of scratches on his face that he has picked at and left a slight scar but, over time they all fade to nothing...Hope that is the case for her

My son fell and scraped his nose and upper lip when he was 10 mths. They at 18 mths he fell face forward into my sister's coffee table. We thought his nose was broken. He is 5 and there are no scars. As soon as both healed, I used kids Mederma.

use aquaphor like 3 times a day. it will not leave a scar if you do this! either way a childs skin regenerates much quicker than adults but aquaphor is amazing and will make sure there is no mark left as long as you use it while it is healing, not once it heals over.

This.. our cat scratched AJ's face by accident once. Cat was scared suddenly by a loud noise that also spooked AJ. Both jerked, cat pounced to run and ran over AJ's face living a LONG scratch from below her eye down to her cheek. it was a bleeder for a bit. Given that I know where a cat's nails have been... i cleaned it out with warm soap and water on a towel then put Aquaphor on it. I couldn't put neoropsorin (sp) because it was so close to her eye and mouth.. I was afraid she'd go to rub her eye and get the antiseptic in her eye.
Honestly it healed up so fast! It was amazing!
No scar at all.
Next time was her falling face first at school.. tore the skin off that spot under your lip and above your chin. That little dip. Deep cut, very bloody, days of band-aids. it left a nasty little circle scab that later became a scar. I worried about it but given time and sun, it too disappeared. She has a small bit left now.. but its hardly noticeable.
