Scone had a couple raisins removed today!
I have many moles on my body.... in the spring, 2 of them changed rather suddenly. they got larger, bumpy and rather concerning looking. so, I scheduled a derm appointment so they could be removed. (I have a lot of skin cancer in my family and must be careful!)
the dermatologist said they were nothing (seborrheic keratosis) but I made them remove them anyway because of my medical history. I came back to the lab, and checked out her diagnosis, and I found out that seborrheic keratosis usually pops up on its own, and is not derived from a pre-existing mole. Melanoma can easily be mistaken for seborrheic keratosis, apparently. I hope the pathologist says they were harmless!
anyone else have odd growths on their skin? I am getting TONS of them... skin tabs, tiny new moles, those 2 monsters that were removed... super scary

Haven't seen anything new pop up in a while but I'm very fair skinned and have had a few removed so far. Definitely not fun at all!

Re: Scone had a couple raisins removed today!
I was very freckled and lately I'm getting more "beauty marks" on my back. Unfortunately I can't see them, DH can! I showed them to my midwife, she says its very common in pregnancy due to hormonal changes. She is keeping an aye on them, if they grow more or start to look wierd she will send me to the derm

Re: Scone had a couple raisins removed today!
I've always been rather careful about skin stuff... it is definitely the weakest organ in our family
I have a PPO, so I don't need referals.... so I already scheduled an appt for late fall with a world expert in melanoma to give my entire body a once over after Scone is born. I think it's pretty necessary at this point Even DH is a bit creeped out by some of the alien beings growing from my skin these days....

I've noticed some changes in some of my moles as well. It makes me so nervous and I have to be more vigilant in my derm appointments. I have one on 8/11 and am nervous.

Re: Scone had a couple raisins removed today!
Since pregnant I have developed so many moles and freckles all over my legs and thighs. I am concern only because there are so many of them...
Can someone recommend their dermatologist Nassau or western Suffolk or Babylon area okay.
