Sciatica
Where do you feel it? I have a back pain - my right lower back by my tail bone. It is worse at night, and I'm not sure why all of a sudden it hurts? Maybe its all that extra weight gain? Any ideas?

Re: Sciatica
No pain in my leg, so probably not sciatica. I'll ask my OB on Thursday, it's probably just regular back pain. Thanks!

I had/have what sounds similar to your pain. It is call sacroiliac arthralgia. It is where your spine meets your hip bone. I had to go to physical therapy. I had it so bad that I cried every single day.
I would definately mention it to your OB. He may have you see a Physical Therapist if it gets worse.
I know, it is very painful and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Hope yours isn't as severe and feels better soon!

Re: Sciatica
Oh boy that's exactly where it is. I was out to lunch with pinky last week, I stood up and my back has been sore since, and really bad at night. Did they say how to prevent it or what causes it?

They said that from your body expanding in pregnancy, fluid gets in your joints and it causes that pain (no matter how much weight you have gained so don't worry about that ).
I was given some stretching exercises to do at home as well as having the PT massage me once a week (I was going twice a week). It's not as bad now, but it's still very painful. Pelvic tilts are good. Try standing against the wall and tilting your back so that your shoulder and your back are flat against the wall. that helps. Also, try to have DH massage the area. That's what I was told to do, but I was sooooo sore, even to the touch that I couldn't let him near me. Also, put ice on it at night for 10 or 15 minutes.
