school district boundaries
Is there a website that has the school district boundaries listed? There are some homes that we have seen that dont seem to fit the district they are assigned on MLS, and we wanted to double check.
Ive tried to search, yet can't seem to find anything....Ive looked at individual school district sites too
TIA!

Re: school district boundaries
SD boundries are tricky. I certainly found that out when we were searching for our home 4 years ago.
We wanted either South Manor, East Moriches or Center Moriches SD.
For example, we looked at a nice house south of Montauk highway in Center Moriches, but the SD was William Floyd SD.
We looked at another house in Moriches near all these beautiful farms and that was William Floyd SD.
We looked at another house in East Moriches, but the SD was Center Moriches.
We ended up buying a house where the zip code is 11950 which is Mastic, but the SD is South Manor SD. This area is known as Manor Park, because it is South Manor SD and Manorville Fire and Ambulance.
My advice is be careful, because even though you are buying in a town, it may be a different SD then what you want.

There isn't one that I have ever come across. You can however, call the school district that is listed and ask them if they can verify that a specific address is indeed in that district's boundaries.
What areas are you talking about? I have been doing a TON of research on houses for FH, DD and I and am a FREAK when it comes to finding a good school district for DD.
Nassau though, I don't know suffolk that well.

Re: school district boundaries
You could definitely call the district, but also if you have a hagstrom map - they have the SD boundaries. If you don't have one - libraries should have them - or just go to a drugstore and sneak a peak!

Thats true, a friend of mine has a house in mastic but is in Manorville SD. My parents house is in E. NOrthport, but I went to Commack Schools. Another friend of mine has a house in Smithtown but is in Hauppague SD.

My SIL and BIL live there! Great area.
ETA- i grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma, on 1 of only 3 streets that stick out into Sachem, but were zoned for Middle Country. they are not normal boundries.

Re: school district boundaries
I found this out too. One neighborhood we looked in had 3 SDs in it - Comsewogue, Middle Country, and Longwood. Go figure as to WHY?
