I cannot believe I'm sending my baby to kindergarten in a few weeks. . At home she eats hot lunches mostly. I did get a thermos but I'm not sure how great it will work. What do you usually send for kids snacks in the classroom and lunches

A lot of classrooms are allergy aware, and or nut free. So we look for snack that are manufactured in a nut free facility for snacks if my kids are in a nut free classroom, even though we can eat all kinds of nuts in our household.
Snacks: Apples Apple sauce pouches Rice Krispy treat Fruit strips Pretzels Cheese sticks Popcorn Strawberries Cantaloupe Mini blueberry muffins
Lunch You can eat peanut butter at lunch at our school. Pb&j Turkey sandwich Tuna sandwich Cheese and apple sandwich Bagel and cream cheese I am sure other kids like other lunch meats, but mine are picky like that.
Drink Juice box Water

If you got the metal funtainer thermos it keeps food hot for several hours! Works great! We have a Yumbox also (like a bento style box) and I pack a lot of different things. Pasta salad, cheese and crackers, sandwiches, lots of fruit and veggies, bagels, yogurt, applesauce, (this box doesn't leak at all)

I just ordered a yumbox. I feel like everything she likes at home will be a huge mess for school or won't transfer well. I'm going to start making lunches for her at home next week in her lunch box to let her practice opening everything and hopefully getting her to eat everything.

Love our Yumbox! Get a white chalk marker (non permanent) and you can decorate the outside, let it dry and it stays until you wash it off! I draw cute pictures, and put quotes, jokes, etc. on my daughter's every now and then. She really likes that
