Schedule for 7 month old

Ok honestly I thought we had a good schedule going (loose schedule, based on wake up times and whatnot) but my 7 month old has been waking up early for the past few weeks and it's killing me. I work and the extra hour or so of sleep is so crucial. He's waking up cranky in the morning, as opposed to well rested, so I feel like he really isn't ready to start his day at that time. I am part of some baby sleep groups on Facebook and the advice for early wake ups is an earlier bedtime (which seems contradictory but I think it ensures the baby is well-rested, because a overtiredness leads to wakeups). I have done that, and even with putting him to bed by 6:30, he is waking up early.... Now I am leaning towards thinking he has gotten a full 10/11 hours of sleep so he IS ready to start his day... help?!

Regardless of when he wakes up, this is a typical day (this was yesterday)

6:45 - Bottle
8:30 - fruit
9:30-11:00 - nap
11:00 - Bottle
12:30/1 - Yogurt
1:45 - 3:15 - nap
3:15 - Bottle
5:30/6 - Veggie
6:30 - bottle, bed

He woke up at 4:45 this morning screaming. I gave him Tylenol thinking it was his teeth, rocked him a bit, nothing. Gave him a couple ounces, he settled, I put him in his crib to let him work it out until 5:30ish - but was fully awake at this point. So I brought him inside basically to start his day but he was so cranky. Put him down and he napped from 7:45-8:45. Our day is totally screwed up now...

6:30pm may be too early of a bedtime. My older DC never slept longer than 10 hours. At 7 months he probably went to bed close to 9/10pm and woke up at 7am. He's 3yo now and the only time he's ever slept longer than 10 hours overnight was when he was sick.

Schedule for 7 month old

DD is 6 months and her schedule varies depending on whether I'm working from home or go into the city. Since it sounds like you're home I'll give the WOH "schedule" which is a term I use loosely!

Sleeps from 9:30/10 to 9/9:30
Fruit and a bottle upon waking
Goes to daycare
Whatever food I send and bottle around 1
Usually takes 2 20-30 minute naps, no set time
Gets home around 4/4:30
Bottle usually due around 4, so she'll either get it at daycare or as soon as she gets home depending on when I get there
Sits in her high chair at the table with us for dinner- gets veggie and fruit and then another bottle
Bottle 3 hours after previous bottle (usually 10ish, if she's already asleep that doesn't stop her, she'll just multitask!)
Bed

Days I'm in the city are similar, but everything is earlier and she naps more at daycare (she's there 10 hours).

Weekends are similar to days I'm home, minus daycare. Food three times a day, bottle every 3/3.5 hours or so and sporadic naps. She'll nap in the car or stroller if we're out.

Everyone thinks we're insane for putting her to bed so late and not having a strict nap schedule but she sleeps through the night (most of the time) and is a chipper little thing in the morning so it works for us.

This. My 6.5 month old sleeps around 9:30/10 wakes 6:00/6:30 sometimes 7.

Thanks everyone. I work outside of the home. This schedule is maintained loosely by his babysitters, give or take an hour here and there. When I am home with him I try to keep it similar.

Based on responses I'll try to make his bedtime later. Thanks for all the help.

To do that you may have to add a short catnap in around his current bedtime. Otherwise, 6 hours between last name and bedtime is very long for that age. You also may want to try adjusting the bedtime backwards slowly. Don't suddenly try to keep him up 3 hours later one day. That would spell disaster!

Like some other PPs have said, 6:30 pm is too early. DS (now 9 months) has had a bedtime anywhere between 8 - 9 pm (depending on his mood, but most of the time it's around 8 pm). He learned that once his sleepsack goes on that bedtime is coming soon.
