Scary Mommy moment #1078
When I get home from work Damien and my Mom wait for me in my driveway. Damien loves to climb into the bed of our pick-up. Jaidy likes to go in too but we put her in while Damien climbs over the tailgate. My brother was over and Jaidy brought him to the back of the truck while Damien says, "Jaidy want to come in?" and before we can do anything he releases the latch and the tailgate comes crashing down on Jaidy Thankfully my brother pulled her away and it only hit her on the bridge of her nose. It is swollen and has a gash across it but nothing too major (thank goodness) I of course give Damien a stern you can never do that and he gets embarrassed and runs into the house and wouldn't talk to anyone. I spoke to him calmly after I took car of Jaidy (ice and such) so he knows he can never do that again. Thank goodness for my brother's quick thinking when I think of what could of happened I just cringe.

Oh no, Stace, that's terrible. Poor Jaidy, and poor Damien because I'm sure he feels terrible now. But I think he probably learned a really valuable lesson
If it makes you feel better, when JT was his age, his dad was working under the car, and JT grabbed the jack holding the car up to see what it was a dropped an entire car on his dad! It must be a boy thing with cars!

glad, except for some bumps and bruises she is OK! Isnt that split second where you know whats about to happen but know you cant get to them in time to prevent it, the WORST?????
