It's going to look like your e-ring (see how each of the side stones have their own setting) all in a row...it's beautiful and MUCH safer! 
ETA: Have him show you the mold or an expample before he proceeds though. The prongs should be tiny...

he proceeded- He siad if I don't like it he'll change it again
but if it's better- then I like it already
I used to look at my ring 80 times a day to make sure the diamonds were ok

Like this...but each "head" or prong will be split and will tighten around each stone.
Again, have him show you an example...as this is not the norm for these stones.

Yes...if he said he's just going to have a prong for each stone, then that's prob what he'll do. There's another way, but you have to make sort of a "v" on top of the stone, like below...and the entire setting is different, I don't think he's going to do that.
And he didn't do that to begin with because it's not usual. The way he did it is the "normal" way.
