Sandstone patio?
Does anybody have any experience with this stone?
I know some of you ladies have DHs/SOs in the landscaping business and I was wondering if they have any advice or words of wisdom.
I've fallen in love with Sandstone slabs/pavers and we're debating whether we should use a natural material like that or go with the more common brick-cobblestone pavers.
The only drawback for us is that the Sandstone will probably have to be mortared, which means it will most likely have to be repaired in 10 yrs or so and the labor to install will cost more.
My rational behind the Sandstone (besides it being intoxicatingly beautiful, in my eyes anyway ) was that it's a smooth surface so we won't have any issues with chairs and/or tables being wobbly or anybody's heels getting caught when they walk around on the patio.
I love the color selection that was used here:
How sad is it that I'm mesmerized by this stone!?!

Selfish bump.
Tray & Jodi, you women have great taste!
Anybody's DH/SO in the masonry business and know anything about Sandstone? I can't seem to find a lot of info about it. We're trying to figure out the durability and practicality of this stone.
I so want this stone! If we can't use it on the patio, I'm trying to figure out ways to incorporate it into our home (bathroom, etc.).

Re: Sandstone patio?
A friend of ours used sandstone for his patio...he wound up ordering too much so he's giving the excess to us I'm excited b/c I fell in love with this stone at the local stoneyard a couple of months ago. It is beautiful!
I will ask him how he finds the stone (as far as durability, etc)...

You lucky duck!!!!
Which stoneyard did you see it at? County Line by any chance? That's where I stumbled upon it.

Thanks Colleen! I'd truly appreciate it!
Prime used it for their outdoor dining area and down by the bars. The stone by the dining area looks horrible already. I'm assuming just from heavy foot traffic and food/drink stains. The stone down by the bar looks great. When I saw how "dirty" the dining area looked, I got concerned.

LOL, yes, County Line! I went looking for bluestone...and fell in love with the sandstone and another stone (the name escapes me).
