Re: Saline U/S
it's an easy test--no pain, just a little pressure. def pee first! i didn't, and my bladder gave them some trouble because it was pushing against my uterus while they were trying to expand it with the water.

I haven't had one of these yet... What are they checking for when they do this?

I'm having this done Monday. This is one of the tests they do prior to an IVF cycle. It was explained to me they do this to check the cavity of your uterus. That there are no fibroids, cysts, etc. Basically that you have the all clear to go.

Re: Saline U/S
It's not terrible, a little more uncomfortable than a regular exam. My cervix was very much closed during mine, so it was quite uncomfortable for the dr to open it to get the catheter through. It was not intolerable at all, though. I know it's crazy, but try to relax - think happy, funny thoughts - and it will go smoother. Good luck!

Re: Saline U/S
Thanks everyone! The U/S went well. My uterine walls were smooth and there were not pollops, cysts or fibroids. All of my follicles were small and nowhere near maturing but they said that can change. My fear is that I don't O this cycle. I'm at CD9 right now.
cowgirlkate: this was done for me as one of the first steps. I just starting seeing the specialist and he said this is one of the first tests to investigate and see what could be wrong.
