Salad Bar Yay or Nay?
Im going to Ruby Tuesday's tonight for dinner & Im thinking I should probably avoid the salad bar due to possible bacteria etc. Is this rational or should I not really worry about it? WWYD?

Re: Salad Bar Yay or Nay?
I ate at one yesterday - I was in California and there is a chain here where everything is super fresh. Go with your gut. If it looks clean and fresh it's as good as a salad you'd order off a menu and not think twice about. My good friend works for the dept of health (that inspects restaurants) and says that a big chain can't afford not to be clean - if one person gets sick at one restaurant, the whole chain loses millions in business.
Eta: he told me to avoid prepared salads like potato salad, etc, or anything that has been sitting in a case for a while. No salads from a bagels store or anything like that.

Bacteria is on EVERYTHING. Even in your own home. Eat what you want. There is risk everywhere you go. You will drive yourself insane for 9 mos like that.
