Yes, I do, I miss the people, the interaction. But, I'm very thankful I'm able to stay home. If I had a family member or someone close to watch my son, I'd go back 1 or 2 days.

I miss it sometimes, I think I miss the freedom more then anything, but the thought of leaving my daughter even for one or 2 days would make me so sad, I give the mom's who work f/t p/t a lot of credit!!

I miss some of the people, but, not the work itself. I would maybe go back, but, I don't know. Im actually going to visit there today. I think I will be staying home though.

Same here and of course if i wasn't pg again. Actually if i wasn't pg, i would be working full time right now, 3 days from home 2 days in the office.

I love my time with DD during the day, even though i am exhausted, more so than when i worked!

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I work from home which for some would be ideal...but I honestly miss working in the office and when Molly is a little older I will be going back to work. I'm just not as happy as I thought I would be as a SAHM so I will definately go back to work eventually.

I feel the same.

I never was soooooooo in love with my job but sometimes I do miss it. But I wouldn't trade it for the time I have with my son. They grow up so fast...He just started making this sound that sounds like mama and it's moments like these that make me realize how happy I am that was the first to hear it. I want to be the one there when he starts doing things for the first time and I want to go on all his class trips. I'm just sentimental like that...Chat Icon

I really only miss the social part of it. My last job were pretty stressful, had a lot of office politics and required a decent amount of overtime, so I don't miss all that.

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I consider myself a SAHM if someone asks but I do work PT but Miranda isn't in daycare, she's home with my mom and DH comes home early from work those days.
I think at the age she is now if I didn't work 2 days a week (or at least one) I might get a little stir crazy. For me 2 days a week (8 hour days) is the perfect balance. I tried 3 days a week and it was too much and since we're not in a have to situation financially I decided to give up the extra day for now.
So you answer your questions, yes to both.

Nope! I did consider going back to work twice and I felt like I would miss to much and I like spending my time with DS. I miss speaking to adults but I joined Gymboree so I get to talk to other moms their. Also, now that I am PG with #2 I feel like I need to spend the real quality with DS before the baby comes.

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I kind of miss the adult interaction..I work from home 20 hrs/week and it keeps me very busy but still no face to face interaction.

however..I know someday i'll be back in the workforce and its very important for me to stay at home now...the time goes so quickly!

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I did miss it a bit, for the socialization, and the fact I was making some of my own money and I didn't have to feel guilty for spending what DH made. Even though his money is our money.

I have a great company and I recently went back to work - 1 day a week - the day my DH is home during the week. I love going out to lunch with coworkers and making some $$.

The hard part is that it is one of DH's day off, so we have less time to spend together as a family. ANd I come home exhausted and still have the dinner and family obligations to contend with.

Not sure going back to work FT is in the cards for me though, I love being home with my kids.

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I did miss it in the beginning. But then as she was getting a little older it was more rewarding to be home with her seeing the new things she was doing each day. We're strapped for money so now I'm working a little mostly from home and in court one or two days a week though sometimes not. I think I'd like to go back to work full time if we had family to watch her, but we don't. Having to leave her with someone else is the hard part. And working part time I think is sort of the hardest of all options for me b/c now I'm juggling both being a SAHM and working. So I get up shower get dressed up run to court for a couple of hours and then have to run home give her lunch and pick up my mommy gig where I left off. I have to make phone calls while she naps. I feel like I'm sort of doing things half a**ed which is not how i like to do things but this way I'm here for her most of the time and we pick up a little money. F/T daycare would cost us too much to make it feasible I think. I feel like if I had her in daycare or with family and worked a full day then that would be my day every day and I'd know what I was in for each day and someone else would give her breakfast and lunch. On the other if I had the luxury to stay home and not worry about money then I could have a set schedule here every day the same, knowing what to expect. Really I think it's probably the grass is always greener, no matter whether you SAHM or work.

Re: sahm's questions for you...

I don't really miss work, I just miss interacting with adults and getting ready in the am. Not all the time just once in awhile. I would love a PT job but there is nothing really out there.
