Sagtikos Parkway today - anyone around?
We were headed out to Northport today to visit some friends and experienced the strangest traffic on the Sagtikos Parkway. There must have been some major accident but we didn't see anything...
On our way back West nearly 4 hours later traffic was still closed on the east bound side. TONS of cars were pulled over and people seemed to be wandering on the grassy patches - it was crazy - and it was raining!
We never saw an accident or any remnants of such...does anyone have any idea what may have happened...can't find a thing online and we're curious....

I think there was a post on NFR. I heard on the news radio that there was some fair or concert there. But I don't know much else.

there's a thread on NFR
there was a concert/fair at Sunken Meadow that filled the park to capacity. Cars that couldn't get in were parked along the highway, and traffic was backed up and eventually diverted.

we saw this also, LUCKILY we were heading south on the SM.
but we were like WTH ??????  
and we saw an ambulance trying to get through 
It was the worse traffic jam ever, and the cars on the side of the road seemed to be totally on their own (they were south bound, traffic was northbound) and they were all scattered, not like one big bunch) but we also heard about the concert/event.
I hope that ambulance got there in time.

I was stuck in traffic for about 45 minutes and late to work because of it.
