Anyone go there and feedback - good or bad? I plan on checking it out in person but would love to hear from others.
Unfortunately the Bellmore location has limited weekend availability

There is a Goldfish that just opened in Farmingdale. Not sure how it is yet but looks nice.

I've heard good things about the Levittown location and not so great things about the Bellmore location.

DD goes to British Swim School in the Levittown LA Fitness and they are phenomenal.

Goldfish Swim School just recently opened on Main Street in Farmingdale and is great! Brand new from top to bottom with lots of weekend availability. Saf-T-Swims always seem grungy and dirty to me (and I've been to more than one location).

Thanks everyone - we are going to check it out this weekend
I looked into Goldfish Swim School and it really does look great...but I am not thrilled that it's a class of 4 kids in a 30 mins session with 1 instructor. Maybe when my kids get older I would consider that, but for now, I think they need more than 7 minutes of one-on-one instruction

I can't really explain it or put it into words but it doesn't break down to 7 minutes of instruction. The first thing I'll point out is that because the swim school is new, the classes are not filled to capacity. My daughter who will be 3 in May is in a level called Mini 3 -- 3 kids with 1 instruction for 35 minutes. For the first 3 weeks, she was the only kid in her time slot and got 1-on-1 instruction. Just last week 1 more child joined her time slot so there are now 2 of them with 1 instructor. They have these platforms in the pool with bars around them (almost like floating islands) that the kids can stand on while the instructor is working with the other kids. They give the kids small tasks to execute and work on while they are working with other kids (practice your arm strokes, sit on the ledge of the pool and practice kicking, etc.) In just over a month, my daughter can now float almost independently, can hang and support herself on the ledge of the pool for 3 minutes while keeping her head above the water line, and pull herself out of the pool onto the ledge completely unassisted. Can she breaststroke or butterfly stroke? Absolutely not but I feel better knowing that, god forbid, in the case something happened in a pool at someone's house, she could hold herself up long enough on her own until someone got to her and that she could get herself out of the water onto a safe area. I guess for her age it's more water acclimation and safety than anything else, with swimming technique sprinkled in.
