Saf-T-Swim East Meadow or Westbury?

I am looking into the Cuddles and Strokes swim program for Thomas.

Any feedback on either of these locations?

Westbury. I believe the one in East Meadow is located in a Gym. Where as the one in Westbury is their own building.

Westbury! It's got it's own location - I believe in EM it doesn't.

In East Meadow (I think you meant Diana) it is iun a NY Sports Club.
When I went to check it out the water looked kind of icky if that makes sense... and the people at the front desk were actually rude.

Haven't checked out Westbury yet but I have heard it is nicer.

OMG Kara - I just read this and had to re-read it - I thought you said "the people at the front desk were actually NUDE!!!"

I hated the East Meadow location! People were rude at the gym's front desk, you weren't allowed to use the elevator to get down to the pool so you had to carry your kids plus all your stuff down the stairs. The changing room was a distaster! I've never been to Westbury but hear much nicer things about it

I never checked out EM, because I heard it was in a gym, but we have nothing but good things to say about the Westbury location.

I take DS to Westbury. We had originally looked into East Meadow because it's a little closer but I didn't like it at all.

We did one of the saf-T-swim programs at the East Meadow location. It was inside teh NY Sports Club.

I have nothing to comare it to but I will not bring DD back for another swim class at this location.

We had two cancelations and i have yet to call back and do my make-up class. Each week we had a different instructor. I felt like out class was the step-child class and overall I was not impressed. It was cute though and we did learn things so it was worth it regardless. I really had no issues with teh changing room - it looked like what a changing room was supposed to be.

The reason why i chose EM over Westbury is because the water was warmed by 10 degrees. I have had friends take classes in Westbury and within 10 minutes, their kids were cold and wanted to get out!

My DS has had no problems being cold -- sometimes when we are in the changing room he will get a little chill but as long as I keep the towel on him he is fine.

he goes for private lessons, not a group class. But, he always goes with the same instructor. She was out sick and he had a good experience with one instructor and then a bad one with another. After that I said that I was only going to take him when his regular instructor was there.

I would not want to take my DS if it was not the same teacher every week - that is not fair to a little kid learning to swim IMO.

I take DD to East Meadow location and yes the NYSC is annoying b/c they won't let me use the elevator and I have the baby with me (now I don't even bring the stroller)...

the changing room isn't great but I love DD's instructor and she is learning a lot so I stuck with it.
