SA question
So we got the results of DH's SA. Its show low count and mobility and the sharps weren't good either. My RE recommend that I see a urologist. My question is what does a urologist do and what can we expect at the first appointment.

Re: SA question
I think they look for particular veins that can cause blockages and affect the shape of the sperm and what not. Sometimes they can do a simple surgery to correct the problems. My husband saw Dr. Ghirdi (sp?) in Manhasset and had a good experience.

Re: SA question
The urologist will take bloodwork to check hormone levels and he will also do a physcial exam to check for varicoles and to make sure everything seems fine.
If there is a problem with hormone levels - there are different treatment options (ex clomid, hsg). and like PP said if there is a varicole than a minor surgery can correct it.
I had previously posted about a supplement recommended by drs called ProXeed - its very expensive so I bought the ingredients listed individually to save $$ :
Rainbow Light Mens One Multivitamin (has to be this specific one b/c it has a few items not in alot of other mens multi) CoQ10 30 mg Acetyl-L Carnitine 500mg L-Carnitine 1000 mg

Re: SA question
The Urologist will check to see if your DH has a varicocele which is the cause of a lot of MF IF. DH had a bi-lateral varicocele.
Then they will check your DH's hormones to make sure everything is OK. I can FM you a list of vitamins that can help with count/motility/morphology
