SA Collection Question - Updated with New ?
DH is going tomorrow morning for his SA. we have the cup and everything he just has to fill and drop off.
my TMI question is - can we BD to get the sample as long as he can still get it out to fill the cup? or is that not recommended?
ETA -
SO we got the sample. 
Anyway should I be concerned at all that it doesnt seem like a lot? The cup is like huge and the sample only really fills out the bottom of the cup - maybe like 1/6th or 1/7th of the cup?? I am sure it's fine it just seems like so little!! I thought that it would be like a pee sample where you get like halfway up the cup but i guess that's silly

I didn't do it because I didn't know if it would contaminate the sample, however I did help my husband out .
I know that there are condoms that you can get specifically for the collection (you can't just use a regular condom), although I don't think that NSLIJ has them.
I would try to do it without potentially getting any other bodily fluid into the sample.

You can't BD to get the sample unless you have the special condom for this. And they do make them.
And you/he cannot use any lub, saliva etc....
They must have given you an instruction sheet, no?

No there really won't be very much. and they only need a drop to do the sample. I had this concern as well and they told me it was fine with very little.

LOL...I know...we thought the same thing. In fact DH was like...what fill that up? A little is a lot. Probably less than normal for BD.
Did they tell you anything about the sample. Usually they tell you if its not enough but they will sometimes do the next day to be sure. I did 6 IUI's and I'm competitive by nature, so each time we did it I worked hard to beat the last number. Seriously, I'm demented or something. And yes, by the end I got it up to 85m or something crazy (like he was in his 20's or something). Think our first run was 4.5m which was way too low (most likely due to the stress fight before sample retrieval).

ok now i feel better. i didnt go with DH to drop it off and he said they didnt comment on anything as far as quantity, so i guess it was fine.
this was just for his sperm analysis, not IUI, and we did get the sample via BD so i am intrigued as to how it will come back. i go to the RE on tuesday so im hoping he has the results by then.
