running shoe question

i've finally lost enough weight to get back to running. it's been too long.

the last time i bought a pair of running shoes, i got a pair of New Balance 1080v7. i see that they're up to a v9.

my question is this:

i love the shoes i have and would like to buy the same shoe, no need for me to experiment with something new. BUT the colors it comes in are BORING. i would really LOVE to have loud, obnoxious running shoes. how would i do that?

i know it sounds kind of silly, but i have no idea how/where to buy brightly colored running shoes that give me the support i need.

i would love to be seen a mile away with crazy shoes!

thanks in advance.

running shoe question

Since you've lost weight, I would go back to a running store and get properly fitted. Just because you like a certain shoe and how it used to fit, doesn't mean that your foot hasn't changed and needs something different. Plus, the store may actually have different colors than what you see online. I know that's happened to me.

I love Minzuno running shoes. My current ones are bright aqua blue. My last one were purple with light green. I don’t buy them for the colors- they have awesome arch support, which is really important for me.

Re: running shoe question

I would not buy a running shoe based on looks.

The shoe you wear has the hugest impact on your entire body, which I'm sure you know. Get fitted for the right running shoe and buy the shoe from the store. That way if you find that they aren't working for you, the store will keep trying until you get it right.

I agree. You can do so much damage to your body running especially if you don't have the right shoe.
I am not a huge fan of the color choices in the ONLY sneaker I can wear without pain, but I give up fashion for function in this one case only. Normally I am all about the look over the comfort- but not when it comes to sneakers

maybe i said it wrong.
i'm not looking for looks alone.

i'm looking for a way to find the shoe i need in obnoxious colors. this is why i've never done it before because the shoes i need, and buy, don't come in obnoxious colors.

i'm looking for a way to maybe customize the shoe.

If you know what shoes you need, look on their website or other shoe sites, perhaps a previous version comes in a color you want.

running shoe question

Go to a running store and have them fit you. I always buy mine from the store. They will listen to you for complaints etc and then look at you run/walk to see What type of show you need. And while I like to have fun colors I take what I can get because I have done some damage to my feet by having the wrong shoes. And know that weight also changes the shoe size. Running shoes will always be bigger than you street shoes too.

Def go to a store that specializes in running shoes. They will measure u properly, the way u walk/run, the weight u have on each foot, etc. Specialized stores tend to have crazy, vibrant shoes so u might actually end up finding the color u want. Happy running!

Re: running shoe question

This guy LINK will custom paint your sneakers.

On a side note - I just bought a new pair of 1080v7 at the outlets. The v9 made some significant changes that (IMHO) are awful. Marc - the manager @ New Balance by Smithhaven mall, said people are falling into tow camps with the design changes - love it or hate it, but that everyone who hates it, hates the same thing.

Sorry to hijack the thread but can you recommend a store? Usually goto new balance but not sure if there is better since I never get that treatment *then again I never asked them either.

This is where I go but there is a running store in Sayville that is supposed to be good too and I think there is one in Huntington Villgae.

No worries momma! I go to Smithtown Running Company. They’ve always being helpful to me, I’ve gotten shoes and other running gadgets from them too. My husband got his running shoes from them and he was very pleased with them as well.

This is where I went and cannot recommend them enough. They are the same company as Sayville Running Co too, which is also great.

Re: running shoe question

i was really hoping that someone would have the secret sauce to buying the shoe i need in a crazy color, but that is not the case.

i was never going to buy a shoe solely on the basis of its color. i was hoping to find a way to find what i need for safe and healthy running, but in a wild color.

i found a very good local running store and bought the butt-ugliest shoes known to God's creation. they make me so so very sad to look at them... but they feel amazing. they do everything i need them to do.

maybe i can find a crazy way to cover them lol
oh, well.

i went for my first run, yesterday. i feel great.
i'm back to c25k since it's been almost two years since i last ran and my weight has changed since then by about 25 pounds.

yay for pain-free running!

5Ks, i'm coming for you!
