i have heard that it's okay to use but some moms choose not to use it. i guess it really goes by what the nurses/dr recommend.

At my hospital and also at my pediatrician's office they said not to. They said it used to be believed that you needed to dry out the belly button but they now know it dries out on its own in the same amount of time.

My Chat Icon is 2 1/2 weeks old. Her cord came off at 8 days and took about 5 more to completely dry out. It healed great! I used nothing.
