RSVP'ing yes to a party, then saying no??
I know in the grand scheme of things, this is no big deal. But in all honesty, what are your thoughts on this.
I just got a fb message from someone about my DD's party in 2 weeks. They can't make it now. Seems like a non-emergency and no one is sick. The party's in 2 weeks.
I understand about emergency's and kids getting sick, but this just seems like a total bs excuse.

Did she give you a reason or did something come up? It happens to me sometimes with a friend of mine. Her son was a premie (10 weeks early) so he had a surgery coming up and he just got over a cold. She didn't want him around lots of kids 2 weeks b4 the surgery and I understood that

I would be a little annoyed, but I would be grateful that it was before I gave in my final count.

ITA - they are giving you plenty of notice --two weeks!!! I would be more grateful about that..but only a lil sad if I *truly wanted them there

No big deal.
2 weeks notice is much better than telling you the day of or being a no show.

I wouldn't be annoyed really, but that is just me. I know stuff happens and it is what it is. If they gave you a BS reason then maybe.

And I could be totally wrong about that. I'm just a bit put off by it, kwim?
Yes the party is still going on and I messaged her back thanks for th eheads up, but still just doesn't sit right with me.
