My DC's birthday party was this weekend. I usually do printed invites but sent Evites this time around. One particular mother is not my biggest fan and the feeling is mutual but our kids love each other so I make the best of it.
She text me the night before the party asking if her son could attend and claiming she never got the invitation, said she even checked spam.
Well Evite is time stamped with exactly when it was viewed. I even resent it as a reminder when she didn't RSVP by the date. So she ignored it twice.
It took all my will power not to screen shot it and send it back to her.

I couldn't vent to any of my mom friends because I didn't want to look like I was bad mouthing her. Vent over Chat Icon

I like to take the trying to help approach by saying "Oh no, I'm so sorry! You should check with your e-mail provider because it's time stamped as read at 4:52 on 6/7. You might miss something important!" Chat Icon I do it at work all the time and offer to call IT to check it out and make sure everything is working okay. Chat Icon

I would have said something along the lines of, oh no I'm so sorry. I assumed you recieved it bc it said you had viewed it on (whatever date).

I usually do paper invites, this is the first year I'm doing email. It's so much easier and you KNOW everyone received it. You can email reminders without having to feel awkward in person.

Its always amazes me when people do stuff like this. They think they're so slick and don't think people see through it.

Just tell them.. yeah I put off responding to figure out whether we were going and forgot.
