Re: rp- Round Cribs
Not sure about the pros and cons, but I wanted one for the longest. Everyone kept telling me they were impractical. Then I saw them with the poles sticking up and wasn't so crazy about that.
The only cons I can think of are that they are smaller and that you obviously cannot convert it to a headboard.
And now I am not getting a convertible crib because the sides don't drop down, so maybe I can go back to the round idea.....

Not to hijack but they do make convertible cribs that have a drop down. I have one for my DS but that company went out of business last year and I just ordered one from Capretti but I don't think they have a website (at least I couldnt find it).
To the OP, I don't think they are that practical at all. I would think they would out grow it to fast and would maybe use it more as bassinet instead.

Re: rp- Round Cribs
I have a convertible with a drop down side..... I got it at Bellini........
The round cribs do not convert, I love them, but IMO they are also very difficult to place in the room and I did not love them as much as I thought I did when I looked....
