Re: RP from parenting... need advice!!!
I never owned a cat. My thought is to look into different breeds that are known to be more friendly and social. Cats seem to me very independant. My sister has 2 and they never ever come over to say hi and my 2 young nephews never get to go near them because they wont let you. But I am not educated on cats at all... I would find that certain breed know for there friendliness.

I'm solely a dog person, and never liked cats until Stormy. My friends and I found him nursing off his mommy, and we cared for them. My friend fell in love with mom, I fell in love with baby. I pretty much raised him like a puppy. He responded to his name, said hi, and loved people. everyone who met him loved him.... I wouldn't really look into a specific breed since we want to adopt a kitten that needs a home... But I'm hoping I could raise the new kitty the same way, and it would get a lot of love and attention from Cailen, who cannot part from a dog or a cat ever....

I'm not a cat person, and majority of the cats I have encountered were not friendly. I am a dog lover and have three of my own, which will all become big fur sisters in september when comes... as for my own family, growing up, we had small pets at first, hamsters mainly...we didn't get a dog until I was 15 years old.
Its really a decision you have to make, educate yourself on what would make the best pet in your house. A puppy can grow up with your son, however, puppies are a lot of work... I can't give you any advice about Cats.
