RP from LIW: Take care with your credit cards!!

DH just got a message from MasterCard that someone in Rome has charged to our card several times over the past two days. We were in Rome last month and purposely used our credit card minimally - only for accomodation, once in the supermarket and once for dinner. Someone along the line got a hold of the number...

This happened to my mother not too long ago as well - she bought something over the internet and the company was based in Rome. Within the next few weeks, there were several purchases charged to her card that were made in Europe.

that has happened to me b/f they can even use your number just from when you sign in on the front desk - they can use your off the slips there. That happened to me in NY too...one month I got a call from the credit card that they noticed something that wasn't in my spending pattern - a few grand in computer equipment and the stuff was purchased in Russia, so if someone wants to get your credit card # they can -- it ***** but it happens...

That's terrible!! I'm so paranoid about this kind of stuff!! I assume your credit card company is not holding you liable for the charges right?

they took it right off the charges for me...they stopped the card # right away and sent me a new card - no more charges!!
