Honestly, I cannot get myself to open a 529 account for either children. They both have very nice savings accounts but there are two many what if's for me regarding 529's.
And I work in the investment industry...

Ugh, I was just thinking about this yesterday. I have custodial savings accounts for each of them. I keep being advised to put them into 529s but at my current job I get free college tuition for 4 years for my kids. I feel like it would be kind of a waste. I also feel like it is not helping them out by sitting in a savings account that gets virtually no interest.
I would love to hear more opinions on this!

Re: RP: financial advice for both kids
We have savings accounts, custodian accounts and 529s for each of the kids.
The 529s are transferrable so if one kid doesn't use them, another would, or a grandkid or something down the road.
In the custodian accounts we have them invested in stocks and some mutual funds.
