Roseola without a rash???

DS was sick with a fever for 4 days last week. The fever was very high...the highest being 104.6. He broke his fever on the fifth day and since then he has been better but has a horrible runny nose. When he had the fever his throat was bad. The ped didnt really know what it was but we knew it was not strep.

Now DD has it and today is the 4th day of the fever. this morning she woke up with 104.6 but not other symptoms. Ive read about roseola and it seems as though they might have it but DS never got the rash. Does the rash have to appear in order for it to be roseola?

Im just trying to figure out what friggin thing my kids have. Oh, can you get Roseola again if they just had it. I dont want DD to pass it to DS again.

DS had it once about 6m ago, the rash didn't appear until the fever was totally gone. He had a VERY mild rash too, it just looked like a very very faint lacy pattern on his stomach/chest. If I hadn't been looking for a rash, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.
